iPad or iSad?
Well, here we stand on the brink of the release of Apple's latest creation: The iPad. After all I've seen, read, and heard of the iPad I feel like it'll be a mixed bag. There are some things the iPad will be able to do much better than anything released before it and at the same time it will fail as a universal media machine. If I had to give a clear verdict - Yes. Of course the iPad will be a success. I have my reservations but at the same time I know it is capable of some unique and fun futuristic things.

Rumors: Sony iPad Killer?
So has some new hardware in the mix. Rumor has it they're developing an iPad equivalent or killer. There isn't any real evidence to back this up, just wild internet rumors, oh boy! There is also some buzz about a PSP phone. Oh god, so much media convergence it'll make your head spin.
iPad Delays (of course)
The new apple iPad is now slated for a later April release for the wi-fi only version of the tablet. Honestly...who didn't see that one coming.

Google Buzz

Buzz certainly looks promising. I participated in the Google Wave beta which I though was going to be the next big thing. I really doubt Buzz will be a facebook killer. On the other hand I feel Facebook might end up just as Myspace did. Just like the great empires of the world sometimes they crumble. When Myspace was niche it had a dedicated following until it became the apple of the public's eye. All of that attention lead to its bastardization via flooding of advertisements and Myspace marketing campaigns. Now since Facebook is available to basically anyone (not just a tool used for college students to network) It will eventually grow and collapse just as Myspace did before it. I'm curious to see what kind of following Buzz gets. My prediction is the average user will be much older...speculation.

Afterthoughts: iPad Keynote

Somewhere between an iPod touch and a Macbook lies the iPad. I can see why some would deem it unnecessary but at the same time...If you were hesitant to buy any of the apple products the iPad sort of bridges the gap. The price seems pretty spot on considering the functionality and practical applications of the device. I can see the value far exceeding the price tag in the future thanks to independent software developers. It seems apple is always putting the future of technology in the hands of the "people". People meaning the everyman, you and I. Not the IT specialist or the guy who builds computers and codes software in his free time.
Apple does something very well and that's making the device work for its user, not the other way around.
